Carbon Steel Reactor

Carbon Steel Reactor

Carbon steel reactors are applied to chemical processes with low anti-corrosion requirements, including the production of resins, adhesives, coatings, additives, fertilizers, coal chemicals and general chemical products. Compared with stainless steel reactors, they feature lower investment costs and superior mechanical strength. GYRO provides customized single-unit equipment, complete reaction system design and EPC general contracting services tailored to your process requirements.

Description
Technical Parameters

Stainless steel vessels are not mandatory for all chemical media. Carbon steel reactors slash purchasing expenses by 20%–40% when handling low-corrosion materials.

We assess medium characteristics, reaction pressure, temperature and heat transfer needs to judge if carbon steel fits your process, delivering cost-effective equipment plans so your budget is utilized where high-performance materials are truly necessary.

Advantages of Carbon Steel Reactors

Lower Capital Investment for Budget Control

Carbon steel reactors meet strength standards for most conventional chemical reaction processes. Their procurement cost is generally 20%–40% lower than stainless steel 304 reactors of identical specifications. If your process media are non-highly corrosive, carbon steel solutions drastically cut upfront project investment and improve capital utilization efficiency.

Capability for Large Non-Standard Fabrication

We manufacture carbon steel reactors ranging from 100 L to 100 m³. The maximum shell diameter reaches DN5000 mm, and single unit weight can exceed 80 tons. Oversized vessels are produced in modular segments for convenient transportation and on-site assembly.

Flexible Agitation System Customization

Multiple agitator types are configurable to match diverse material characteristics: anchor, frame, paddle, propeller, ribbon and high-shear dispersing agitators.

Drive power from 5.5 kW to 160 kW is available for high-viscosity materials.

Variable frequency drive is optional for processes requiring precise mixing, providing stepless speed regulation of 20–980 rpm to enhance mixing uniformity.

Diverse Heating & Cooling Combinations

Heating options include steam, thermal oil and electric heating. Jackets, half-pipe coils and internal coils can be applied individually or in combined layouts. For processes demanding rapid heat exchange, we optimize heat transfer area via professional thermal calculation.

After-Sales Service & Technical Support

We supply a complete set of equipment documents for every carbon steel reactor, including general assembly drawings, foundation layout drawings, nozzle connection drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, material test certificates, pressure test reports and NDT inspection reports to facilitate your installation, acceptance and long-term maintenance.

After equipment delivery to your site, we offer full on-site technical services as required by your project: installation technical guidance, recommendations for welding and nozzle connection, support for no-load and loaded trial runs, agitation system parameter tuning, sealing system maintenance guidance, and wear parts replacement suggestions.

We respond to all technical inquiries within 24 hours under normal circumstances. For projects requiring field service, our professional technicians will be dispatched on-site according to your project schedule.

We provide long-term supply of spare parts such as reducers, motors, mechanical seals, bearings and agitators to simplify your daily equipment maintenance.

FAQ

Q: Can carbon steel reactors sustain long-term continuous production?

A: The main body of our reactor is fabricated from premium pressure vessel carbon steel. The shell, heads and flanges are calculated in accordance with design loads, making the equipment fully applicable to continuous production conditions. For processes with severe abrasion, wear-resistant liners or internal lining structures can be added to extend service life.

Q: Is temperature control stable?

A: Full jackets, half-pipe coils or internal coils are available as per process requirements. Heating options cover steam, thermal oil and electric heating. The heat exchange area is custom-calculated based on thermal load to cut heating time and deliver steady temperature regulation.

Q: Is routine maintenance convenient?

A: Manholes, cleaning ports, sampling nozzles and inspection openings are pre-reserved for daily servicing. For media prone to crystallization or scaling, quick-opening assemblies, CIP (Clean-in-Place) connections or detachable agitation systems can be equipped to lower maintenance costs.

Q: Can you manufacture equipment based on our drawings?

A: Yes. We support drawing-based custom manufacturing. We can also redesign the whole unit according to your PFD, PID or raw process parameters.

If you are interested in our products, please send us your medium properties, operating temperature, working pressure, required volume or process flow diagrams to GYRO. Our engineers will provide customized solutions, professional technical advice and quotations within 24 hours.
