Description
Technical Parameters

Glass-lined equipment refers to industrial machinery fabricated by fusing corrosion-resistant glass enamel layers onto carbon steel pressure vessel substrates.

The steel substrate delivers structural mechanical strength and pressure-bearing capacity, while the glass enamel lining acts as a protective barrier in direct contact with process media. Such equipment is suitable for service with acidic media, organic solvents and other corrosive process environments.

GYRO custom-manufactures a full range of glass-lined equipment tailored to project specifications:

  • Glass Lined Reactor
  • Glass Lined Storage Tank
  • Glass Lined Receiver
  • Glass Lined Column
  • Glass Lined Heat Exchanger
  • Glass Lined Pipe & Fittings

These products can be supplied as standalone units, or integrated into complete systems for reaction, storage, heat exchange and material transfer in accordance with your process flow requirements.

Product Advantages

Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Applicable to processes involving fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, pesticides and other corrosive media. It cuts downtime and component replacement costs caused by equipment corrosion.

Smooth Surface Minimizing Material Residues

The typical surface roughness reaches Ra ≤ 0.8 μm. The lining barely absorbs or retains residual materials, making it ideal for batch production and processes with stringent purity standards. It also simplifies equipment cleaning procedures.

Balanced Mechanical Strength & Anti-Corrosion Performance

The equipment adopts steel pressure vessels as the main structure, lined with a 0.8–2.0 mm thick glass enamel layer on the inner wall. The steel substrate delivers robust mechanical strength, while the glass lining provides superior corrosion protection, suiting diverse industrial working conditions for reaction, storage and heat exchange.

Wide Operating Temperature Range

Standard glass-lined equipment is engineered for operating temperatures ranging from -20°C to 200°C. Its design pressure can be customized from -0.1 MPa to 1.6 MPa based on equipment structure and project requirements, accommodating vacuum, atmospheric and medium-low pressure conditions common in chemical manufacturing.

Rigorous Factory Inspection

After production, all glass-lined equipment undergoes 20 kV high-voltage spark testing to detect enamel defects including pinholes and cracks. Additional quality verifications are performed as required, such as pressure testing, dimensional inspection, as well as RT, UT, MT and PT non-destructive examinations.

Reliable for Long-Term Industrial Production

When operated within design parameters and protected from drastic thermal shocks and mechanical impacts, premium glass-lined equipment delivers stable long-term service, eliminating production losses from frequent equipment replacements.

Manufacturing Process of Glass Lined Equipment

1

Engineering Design: Determine the equipment volume, design pressure, design temperature, interface dimensions and structural form according to process parameters.

2

Steel Substrate Manufacturing: Complete steel plate cutting, rolling, assembly, welding, non-destructive testing and necessary heat treatment.

3

Surface Treatment: Strictly treat the inner surface of the steel substrate to create stable surface conditions for the subsequent glass glaze construction.

4

Enamel Spraying and Sintering: Carry out multi-layer glaze spraying according to the equipment structure and glaze system, and perform high-temperature sintering to form a firm combination between the glass glaze layer and the steel substrate.

5

Quality Inspection: Complete appearance inspection, dimensional inspection and high-voltage spark detection. Conduct pressure tests and non-destructive testing according to project requirements.

6

Final Assembly and Testing: Install agitators, mechanical seals, speed reducers, instruments and other supporting parts, and inspect the operating status of glass lined equipment.

7

Delivery Acceptance: Complete FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) in accordance with relevant requirements and provide corresponding quality documents.

International Standards & Quality Control

GYRO INDUSTRY ENGINEERING executes projects in compliance with applicable design and manufacturing standards tailored to the host country, equipment application and specific technical requirements of each project.

We provide full compliance with ASME Section VIII, GB150, HG/T 2371, PED directives, designated corporate standards and customized project technical specifications.

Our full-spectrum quality control system covers material test certificates, material re-inspection, welding procedure control, non-destructive testing of welds, dimensional verification, pressure testing, high-voltage spark testing for glass-lined equipment, and pre-delivery acceptance inspection.

For international projects, we coordinate with third-party inspection bodies to conduct on-site inspection and witness testing at your request.

After-Sales Service and Quality Issue Resolution

24/7 Issue Response Mechanism

Once the equipment is in operation, should issues such as equipment anomalies, damage to the glass lining, seal leakage, or agitation system malfunctions arise, the technical team can be contacted via telephone, email, or online channels. We respond promptly upon receipt of feedback:

Issue registration and preliminary technical analysis completed within 24 hours

Preliminary resolution recommendations provided within 48 hours based on submitted materials (photos, videos, operating parameters, etc.)

For complex quality issues, engineers are assigned to conduct a detailed root cause analysis and formulate a repair or replacement plan

Remote video diagnostics and technical guidance available

If issues related to manufacturing quality arise during the warranty period, we handle them in accordance with the contract and warranty terms. We first determine the cause of the issue by reviewing manufacturing records, inspection reports, on-site photos, and operating data.

For issues confirmed to stem from manufacturing or assembly quality, GYRO provides-based on the specific situation-free technical diagnostics, repair plans, parts replacement, necessary factory-based repairs, and on-site technical services.

If the issue is related to improper operation, operation beyond design parameters, mechanical impact, or on-site modifications, we assist in analyzing the cause and provide targeted repair recommendations.

Comprehensive equipment records maintained for future maintenance

A dedicated technical dossier is established for each piece of glass-lined equipment, containing design documents, material certificates, welding records, non-destructive testing (NDT) reports, pressure test records, glass lining inspection records, and factory release documentation. When replacing parts or performing technical upgrades, engineers can quickly verify structural details and parameters using the original equipment data.

Whether you require a single glass-lined reactor or a complete glass-lined equipment EPC project, please feel free to send us your process parameters, equipment list, PFD/P&ID, or project requirements.

ZIBO GYRO INDUSTRY ENGINEERING will provide equipment selection, engineering solutions, and project quotations tailored to your specific operating conditions, offering a comprehensive service that covers everything from design, manufacturing, and installation to after-sales support.
